One of the most promising opera voices of Italy, the tenor Matteo Macchioni, will be among the special guests of the International Music Festival “Discovery”.  The young opera singer, who chose the Varna Festival stage for the start of his world tour dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Verdi, will offer ot the Varna audience classical repertoire and performance of original songs in the pop/opera style. Bulgarian audience will be among the first to hear the previously unpublished data from two works of Giuseppe Verdi – “Credo” and “Capriccio” that the great Italian opera composer has written for bassoon and orchestra in the early years of its creation, in 1837. The manuscripts were discovered by Gaia Baresi Verdi – a descendant of the great maestro and archivist of the Catholic Diocese Fidentsa, Don Amos Aimi.

In Italy, Matteo Macchioni is called “New Bocelli.” His star rises in 2008 at the International Opera Competition “Pavarotti”, which express 50 best lyrical voices from around the world. The incredible vocal potential of the young Italian did not go unnoticed and Matteo Macchioni became the youngest tenor, reached the final.
