In 2016 Bulgaria won for the first time the Discovery Song Contest. The festival took place in Varna, Bulgaria, from 19-th to 23rd May. The winner song „Till the end” was performed by it’s author, the young singer Todor Georgiev – Toshey, known by the Bulgarian audience for his participation in Voice of Bulgaria finals. The famous Bulgarian musician and composer Evgeni Dimitrov- Maestro, won the prize for arrangement for same song. Todor, who’s birthday was in the festival day, was awarded with the WAFA (World Association of festivals and artists) Award.  The managing team of WAFA was in Varna for the Annual Executive Board WAFA Meeting. WAFA(World Association of festivals and artists) had on 21st May in Varna, in frame of Discovery festival, it’s Annual meeting of Executive Boad members.The meeting was held in Grand Hotel London. The WORLD ASSOCIATION OF FESTIVALS AND ARTISTS (WAFA) is a non-governmental, non political, non profit, cultural institution and free of racial, gender or national prejudice. The objectives of WAFA is establishing close cooperation with the Festivals organizations, assisting and helping Festivals to attain higher standards, providing help to young talent in their advancement of their musical career, co-operating with National and International organizations. Discovery 2016 started with the Star Laureates of Discovery Concert, that was held on 21st May at 20.00 h in the Concert Studio of Bulgarian National Radio – Radio Varna. The concert was opened by the Polish Jazz &  R’n’B performer Marius Szaban, who presented his songs in English and Polish. After him the audience enjoed the performance of it’s favorite Luca Sepe and Daniele Musiani, who performed in 2007 the Italian song , that won Discovery. Both Italians performed popular Italian canzonettas, songs by Luca Sepe and music parodies. Both are very popular in Italy with their music parodies on Television show....

International Radio contest will be held in the frame of 25th Anniversary edition of Discovery International Pop music festival. The audience of radio stations in different countries will have the chance to vote for the songs, that will be lounched in radio air. The first  broadcasting was on May 15th on National Bulgarian radio – Radio varna. The Radio contest is held for forth time. Until now in the contest participated radios stations from seven countries with more than 500 000 votes. The festival fans could vote also online for their favourite song on  http://contest.discoveryfest.com/. In the festival participate 14 songs from Bulgaria, Indonesia, Italy, Spain, Malta, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey, Philippines, Azerbaijan. The Italians Luca Sepe and Daniele Musiani, laureates of Discovery Festival, will perform as a duo at the “Star laureates of Disocvery“ Concert, that will be held on May 20Th in the Concert Studio of Bulgarian National Radio Varna. Luca Sepe, actor and singer, song writer, with two Discovery festival first prizes, had concerts in Bulgaria and broadcasting on Bulgarian National Television. He started his career on the stage of Sanremo. Luca participated in many international festivals, tours in USA and Europe, he participated in a Europe tour of Zuccero.  He has an own label, LS MUSIKA.  Since eight years is host of the radio shows Kiss Kiss Napoli and TAPPI, and since  2010 is a permanent host  on Radio and TV  Canale 34 Telenapoli.
